The article focuses on the introduction of selected cases of litigation regarding the origin, scope and content of the usufruct, as they were captured in Justinian´s Digest.
The purpose of these selected cases is to demonstrate the applicability of Roman law cases and in particular their solutions for today's modern law, which-when new Civil Code comes into force-will need extensive inspirational material for institutes, which were abolished in the socialist law and now are being restored.
