Methods of Critical Thinking in Teaching Czech for Foreigners

Abstract
The paper focuses on the use of selected methods of critical thinking in teaching Czech as a second/foreign language. Most of these methods develop reading literacy as being able to understand the written text and use it to achieve certain goals. These methods can be used to develop reader´s own abilities and knowledge, and help to integrate actively into society. The essence of the contribution is the practical use of selected methods of critical thinking in teaching Czech as a second/foreign language, which motivate and develop writing and speaking, necessary not only for daily contact, but also for successful testing of knowledge and passing tests (eg. for permanent residence, Czech citizenship).
